We are located in Harpersfield, N.Y., after being frustrated with constantly wet firewood we started looking into metal carports. I thought it would quick and easy to keep it dry. The very first question i asked the dealer was, is there any problem with snow load? He said "No Problem",so in November of 2006 i purchased two metal carports from Eagle Carports, Inc. of Cana, VA. for almost $6,000.00. They were sold to us by Farmer Brown's of Franklin, N.Y. One was 24'w x 26'L and the other was 24'w x 31'L.,They installed them.
During the valentine 2007 snow storm(3 months later)they both collapsed. Now the Eagle Carport company says the dealer misrepresented the product and should have never said that there was no problem with snow load and they were sorry but there is nothing they can do.
After repeated phone calls to the Eagle Carports company they finally admit that they do have a problem with snow load, but still won't replace my carports.
I feel that if they won't withstand some snow that they should not be allowed to sell then in snow areas. I think they were out to take my money and run. They are definitely not a company that stands behind there product. Has anyone ever had any experience with this before?

you went cheap for such a large building they have truss upgrades thicker metal and if you had went with 26 wide they would have come with truss upgrade. most people want the cheapest possible so dealers sell what you want not what you need.
